I like your idea Phatt. Dogs are pretty much uncertain about us since we are so low, so I think the whistle would be a good tool to keep them guessing while we make a quick getway. I wear a lanyard...

While I do carry "Halt" on my trike, I have never used it on a dog. I have been chased by dogs but in one case I out ran it. Must have been an old dog. To date my best line of defense has been to stop...

Canadian Blue Coyote has a point. I don't mean to change this thread,but I am kind of a worrier. And I worry more about people than I do animals. Even though I am from Texas, I don't carry a hand gun...

Tex, you could learn about tire boots. A dollar bill works great for this. Actually anything that can cover the breach can hold a tube at low pressure. Enough to get home on, anyway.

RZ yeah I wear a helmet light instead of a mounted light and LOVE those things. It is STRONG and I have the luxury of pointing it where I ened to see something. Being blind is the pits, but oh well....
